In 1935, Al’s opened it’s doors as a small family business located in downtown Wilmington. Eighty-five years later, Al’s has passed through multiple generations and has grown into a sporting goods business with something for everyone. A long way from its humble beginning, in September of 2008 Al’s moved into a brand-new 17,000 SF building at the corner of 2nd and Market St in Downtown Wilmington.

While our location has changed, our customer service stays the same. Most of our retail sales associates have been a part of the Al’s team for at least ten years. We carry a variety of items including over 700 models of shoes for men, women and kids. Al’s prides itself in carrying the latest in footwear and apparel for the everyday athlete and fashion. Al’s carries one of the largest selections of hometown and national MLB, NBA, NFL, AND NHL hats and apparel. Al’s retail department carries the latest sports equipment for most sports.

Al’s team department supplies everyone from local little leagues to high schools and colleges. Whether it’s custom uniforms, bulk sports equipment, t-shirts or sweats we can assist you, Al’s team department can provide clothing with screenprinting or embroidery on time. Our knowledgeable staff can help design the uniforms or apparel for your team, company or family reunion.
